Fisher Price Laugh & Learn My Pretty Learning Purse

If you've read our blog before, then you know that Menachem and I are both against toys that play songs and make annoying noises. Basically, if it has batteries, it's not for us.

Well that was before we got the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn My Pretty Learning Purse as a gift. Skeptical at first, we are now in love with Hila's first purse (by "we" I mean me and Hila...Menachem is less passionate about the purse). The purse comes with a bracelet, mirror, a fake tube of lipstick (which doubles as a rattle), a set of keys, and a crinkly dollar bill.

Every time you open or close the purse, this cute little voice says, "Open", "Close", "Hello", "Goodbye", and sings three different songs. There's a zipper on the front of the purse that also makes music when you push it back and forth.

Here's one of the songs:

Ready to go out,

I'll bring my purse along.

Get my keys and bracelet,

Sing a little song.

Look into the mirror,

Put some lipstick on.

Wave and say, "Bye, bye!"

I won't be gone too long!

Maybe that sounds dumb to you, but it is truly adorable. It comes with volume control and the option to turn the sound off altogether. The purse itself (because of batteries, etc.) is WAY too heavy for Hila to hold, so for now it's just for floor playtime. But it's for ages 6 months to 3 years--I imagine by then this purse will be her best friend. (By then, we may have taken the batteries out--cute as it is, I can't imagine that we'll still want to listen to the Laugh & Learn Purse sing her pretty songs all day long...)
