Bath/Changing table combo by l. rossi
For a few months now, I’ve been scouring the internet and local stores for a combo bath and changing table that we can put into our bathroom. If it folded, even better, seeing as our bathroom and laundry room isn’t that big either, and we do still need room for laundry. Also, easier to store, so we are less likely to give it away after we don’t need it anymore. I wasn’t so big on any of the ones I saw online, and anyway, I’ve started to really get annoyed with online shopping.
But voila! Right here in Modiin at the Dr. Baby outlet store, I’ve discovered the Elios, by l. rossi, an Italian company that I’ve never heard of, but apparently has been around for 50 years. Its totally foldable in one piece, has fun colors, and is really sturdy. The bath has built in non-slip pads, although I’ll still probably add a seat for the first little bit. It’s 600 shekels at Dr Baby, and seeing as its probably one of the only big ticket items that we are buying, (other than closets an and a/c unit), I think we can manage it, seeing as there is no shipping :). I like that the top lifts up and stays up for bathing, that there are little storage pockets underneath, and that it has a hose to emtpy the bath back into the big tub. I also think its the perfect height for short people, but we will have to see when I actually have to hold a real baby in the bath.
PS. I hope I’m that thin when my baby is this age. Not likely.

well it would have helped if i had started out with legs that long and thin to begin with…as it is, i don’t have much of a chance.
i think orange, just since thats the one they have at dr baby. def not purple or pink….

Sorry I haven’t checked your website for a while. Work came up and I was very busy, but it’s all over now and I have time again! (time but no money 🙁 )
Just to say – I do like the look of that bath changer station. If I was to get one I would get the green! Nice and fresh for the bathroom. Maybe orange looks better in the Israeli sunlight though.
One thought – you couldn’t shut it and fold it away straight after the bath, you would have to leave the lid open for it to dry out or it would end up stinking of mildew! We have such problems with the bath toys going mouldy and we had to throw away our bath mat as it went black with mould after only a few weeks! And we hung it up to dry too. What a pain.

Here's another reason why I like this: I don't like the idea of changing a baby in the baby's bedroom. We don't have toilets in our bedrooms, why should we air out poopy diapers in the same air where our babies sleep? It doesn't seem respectful. We now at least keep the diaper garbage outside of her room — her room started to smell.

And bethami, if hila is done with her bath seat when yours comes along, then you can borrow ours. it's green.

It folds down from the wall like the ones in airplane bathrooms.
But I never use it. I just change my kids on the couch. It's not convenient for me to go all the way to the bedroom (have to walk around a lot of stuff because our apartment is so cramped).
P.S. Liz – You can put a bath mat in the washing machine!
Hoffmans – this looks great! I'm having my mom check it out in Ikea in the US, and maybe she'll bring it when she comes. Even though you don't use it, if you did, would you find that its a quality product? Sturdy, easily cleaned, etc? Enough storage space for everything you need?
