Baby Brezza One Step Baby Food Maker Review

Baby Brezza One Step Baby Food Maker Review By Avital Greenbaum Once your baby is old enough to eat (and enjoy!) baby food, the fun really begins. As a Registered Dietitian, I have a special place in my heart for providing nutrition for my baby (or really any baby). I’ve seen a lot of sick babies who have to be fed from a tube for a long time and who can never appreciate taste. It’s incredible tragic. I’m so thankful that my baby is healthy and enjoys some of life’s finer things like food. My daughter Lyla started on solids around 5 months and it was very exciting. We went through all the cereals first and than the step 1 baby purees like banana and apple. The real fun began when she was able to eat stage 2 foods. Stage 2 is still a smooth puree but has a bit more texture. Out of all the jarred foods on the market, my favorite was Earth’s Best. They hare organic and have very creative blends like broccoli zucchini, apple sweet potato, and carrot tomato. I dabbled with homemade blends too. I would steam veggies in the microwave and then blend them with my blender.

Materna or Similac?

I was all ready to write a post about the virtues of Materna over Similac, when upon my browsing I learned that if I had the options that you all have in America, then I would maybe change my preference. In Israel, the answer is clear. Materna comes in a square container with a place to hold the scooper, which means a) You don’t lose the scoop in the tin and b) You have an edge to level out the formula in the scoop. Also, Materna shakes up smoothly and doesn’t create a huge bubbly milkshake like the Similac does. The Materna looks like breastmilk — so you can fool your friends into thinking that you’ve pumped. After all, you would NEVER give your baby formula…The Similac (here in Israel) comes in a round tin and the scoop always gets lost and there’s no way to level it out, unless you use the lid, which is annoying. And, like I said above, it ends up making a foamy milkshake. This means that the baby ends up drinking a ton of bubbles (though she doesn’t seem to care) and it makes it really difficult to see how much formula is left

Boon Squirt: Baby Food Dispensing Spoon

This dispensing spoon is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, so even though it’s a long ways away for me (especially since my baby is still in utero), I thought I’d share it with you. It’s the Boon Squirt: Baby Food Dispensing Spoon. You fill the bulb with food (it holds about 3 oz.), attach it to the spoon, and then squeeze the food onto the spoon. You control the amount that gets on the spoon. It’s a one-handed feeding device AND makes for easier clean-up and a less messy eating experience (maybe)! It even comes with a protective spoon cover. Good for traveling. Cute, right? You want one don’t you? In other news, our site seems to be attracting attention! Somebody from chulamama.com found us through Google (How, I don’t know, I think we come up at around search result number 112), and wanted us to let our readers know that they can get 10% off their entire order by using the coupon code “Babythingsiwant.” Pretty cool! I’ve never had a coupon code before! Their site seems pretty neat, and they’ve got amazing prices – frequently cheaper than amazon.com, even before the coupon code. I’ve linked to where

Glass Bottles

I plan on breastfeeding our baby, but I imagine there will be some times when it just makes more sense for someone else to feed him/her a bottle (like in the middle of the night). I never really thought about this before, but as soon as I saw these cute mini WeeGo Glass Bottles,I decided that I’d like to go glass with our bottles. I think that as the kid grows and learns how to hold the bottle him/herself, it wouldn’t make sense anymore to use glass for the obvious reason that it may break, but while mom or dad are still in charge, why not use something a bit more hygienic? Glass bottles are chemical-free and easier to wash and sterilize. And with the rubber sleeve and the silicone nipple, it makes for a cute, colorful, and clean feeding experience. The WeeGo Glass Bottle also comes in a 9 oz. size. Both sizes come in a variety of colors, including Ocean, Sky, Pink, Orange, Raspberry, and Yellow. A little cheaper and only slightly less cute is the Siliskin Evenflo Glass Bottle. It comes in light pink and light blue and holds 8 oz.

Welcome to my blog!

Welcome and thanks for visiting my blog! This is a safe space that I’ve created where I can wallow in my desire for stuff. Where I can just talk about what I want and not worry about price or space or shipping. Also, I don’t care if it makes sense. In other words, there’s nothing wrong with jonesing for two cribs, is there? Or, maybe there’s plenty of moisture in the air, but who says I can’t pine over a humidifier? A little about me: I am seven months pregnant, this is our first baby, and we don’t have any stuff yet. Here is the first thing I want: I’ve decided that I want to try and not buy baby food. I want to make everything from scratch. So with these handy dandy trays, I can make a ton of carrot oatmeal (or whatever it is babies eat) and then store it in convenient one ounce servings in the freezer. Pop one out, heat it up, and viola! (ooh, that’s a nice girl’s name.) Menachem says we can just use ice trays, but that doesn’t seem very hygienic. I think these are just perfect.
