First off, we are pretty decidedly against co-sleeping, that is having your baby sleep in your bed with you. We’ve done it on occasion when there was no other choice, such as if we were staying somewhere with no bed for Eden, but did not enjoy it. Also, I don’t want to get used to it (it IS nice cuddling up to a sweet smelling loving baby), and I don’t want the baby to get used to it. No need to try to convince me of the benefits – it’s just not our thing. That said, I would like our baby to sleep right next to my bed in the beginning. I really do want to give nursing a good try again this time around, and I think middle-of-the-night feedings will be easier if she’s right there. We did this with Eden for her first few weeks, and I would change only one thing – have the baby level with my bed, or as close as possible to it. With Eden, we just used the bassinet that came with our stroller and put it on the floor. I guess I want to do better with this baby…..Also, post-C-section, it will

Sorry for the long delay in writing, but I was busy having my baby. Her name is Hila Zehava is she is one week old and perfect. For more about life with Hila, check out my other blog. But for now, back to business. Now that I am a mother, and not just a prospective mother, I think I can use the word “need” rather than simply “want.” And here is what I need: Tough Titties Nipple Rub. Waking up in the middle of the night, dealing with a crying baby, feeling a bit incompetent…none of these things compare to the pain and burn that I’ve got in my nipples. This dispensing spoon is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, so even though it’s a long ways away for me (especially since my baby is still in utero), I thought I’d share it with you. It’s the Boon Squirt: Baby Food Dispensing Spoon. You fill the bulb with food (it holds about 3 oz.), attach it to the spoon, and then squeeze the food onto the spoon.
