FlexiBath Flexi Folding Travel Bath

Baby bathtubs are not really anything I ever gave much thought to. Originally we didn’t buy one at all, thinking we could bathe the little 6 lb. chicken in the sink (isn’t that what our parents did with us?). But after realizing that the bathroom sink was too small and the kitchen sink, which was perfectly sized, was always filled with dirty dishes, we decided we should buy one. So we saw a cheap, hard plastic baby bath on the sidewalk in front of one of those dingy housewares shops on Agrippas and bought it. It was the equivalent of less than $10. Dream On Me Bather I know Menachem immediately hated it. The tub had no legs so we’d place it in our regular bathtub and the person washing the baby would have to bend down–not a big deal when you have a big kid who can support herself, but very hard on the back when you’re clutching an infant with both hands and trying to wash her, all while sitting on your knees on the cold bathroom floor. (And the taller you are, the more you have to bend over the side of the tub.) Sometimes we’d bring

Classic Must-Have Toys

Here are some oldies but goodies that make excellent baby gifts. Some toys just never go out of style! THE FARMER SAYS…Here is a variation on a classic. When I was a kid, these had a pull string and were slightly larger. This is basically the same idea, but instead of string, you pull a level. It was a bit hard for Hila as a 1-1.5-year-old, but now she’s got it down. The arrow points to an animal and then says (depending on the animal), “The cow says moo.” This one switches off and says, “Where is the cow?” And then there are two arrow that point to songs, either The Farmer in the Dell or Old MacDonald. Cute, not too annoying, and educational! FISHER PRICE CORN POPPER PUSH TOYThis toy proves that you don’t need music and batteries for a toy to be annoying. If we had a balcony or a backyard, that is where I would keep this toy. I don’t know–now that I’m writing about this toy, I’m starting to like it less and less. It really gives me a bit of a headache from the loud popping noise and you can barely carry on a conversation

One for Eden – Boon Frog Pod and Make-a-Face

So I’m really honored to have received an invitation to join this blog. I mean, I asked for it, but it’s still nice to be invited. Officially, I mean, via Google. (It was nice to be invited informally in person and on facebook too, but you know… Google is the real thing…)I asked Sarah if I could contribute because we are expecting a baby in early September, and my mind is already reeling with things I want to buy. Since this is our second, I think that I learned some things around last time, and want to attempt to right some wrongs. However, before I start with baby things, I wanted to comment on something our 4-year-old Eden received for her birthday this year – the Boon Frog Pod. I mean, since most of the rest of my posts here will be for the newborn and younger, I may as well pay all my dues upfront. We love the Boon frog. Not only is it just a huge plastic frog that is SO much fun to unwrap, but its really functional too. Its a container for all the bath toys that you have in your tub, and it sits on the bathroom
